Timo Werner (born 6 March 1996) is a German professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, on loan from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, and for the Germany national team. A Germany international, Werner was a prolific goalscorer for Germany's youth national team, scoring 34 goals in 48 appearances at all ages. Werner made his debut in 2017, helping Germany win the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the Golden Boot for top scorer. He also represented Germany at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2020.

Story of Timo Werner
♠ When Timo was six years old, Schuch took him to TSV Steinhaldenfeld, where Timo trained as a youth coach. At the age of eight, Timo joined the Stuttgart Academy and also impressed the coaches with his speed and strength.
♠ Timo Werner started his club career with Stuttgart's U-19 team in the 2012-13 season, where he scored 24 goals and won the U-17 Fritz Walter Medal. At the time, he was only sixteen and a student at the Stuttgart High School. In 2013, he was selected for the Bundesliga. On November 10, he scored twice in a 3-1 win over Freiburg, becoming the youngest player in Bundesliga history to score two goals in a single game.
♠ On March 6, 2014, when he turned 18, he signed a professional contract with VfB Stuttgart. But by 2016, with VfB Stuttgart relegated, Timo Werner was forced to move to newly formed RB Leipzig. On June 11, he signed a four-year contract with the club for a reported transfer fee of 10 million euros.
♠ In May 2017, he was part of the German team for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and scored his first international goal against Cameroon.

On 9 August 2022, Werner re-signed for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig on a four-year contract for a reported fee of £25.3 million. On 13 August, Werner made his return debut in a 2–2 draw against Köln. He also scored, firing a dipping shot from outside the box at Köln goalkeeper Marvin Schwäbe, who let it slip through his hands to give Leipzig the opener in the 36th minute.On 1 October 2022, Werner scored a brace against Bochum to score his 100th and 101st goals in 169 matches in all competitions for Leipzig. This made him the first player to score a century of goals for the club.
On 2 November 2022, Werner suffered an ankle injury and had to be substituted in Leipzig's 4–0 Champions League victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, which saw him ruled out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar for Germany.
On 9 January 2024, Werner joined Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur on loan until the end of the 2023–24 season, with an option for the transfer to become permanent at the end of the season. He made his debut for the club on 14 January, assisting Rodrigo Bentancur's equaliser in a 2–2 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. He scored his first goal for the club on 2 March in a 3–1 home win over Crystal Palace.Werner scored for his second game in a row, netting the final goal in a 4–0 away win over Aston Villa from the bench.
