The Netherlands national football team (Dutch: Het Nederlands Elftal) has represented the Netherlands in international football matches since 1905. The national team is controlled by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), which is a part of UEFA, and under the jurisdiction of FIFA the governing body for football in the Netherlands. Most of the Netherlands home matches are played at the Johan Cruyff Arena and the Stadion Feijenoord. The team is colloquially referred to as Het Nederlands Elftal (The Dutch Eleven) or Oranje, after the House of Orange-Nassau. Like the country itself, the team is sometimes (also colloquially) referred to as Holland. The fan club is known as Het Oranje Legioen.

The Dutch men's national football team is led by the Netherlands Football Association and competes in international competitions. In the 1970s, the Dutch generation of famous coach Michels, the "total attack" tactics under the English famous coach Reynolds brought to the Dutch national team, and launched an impact to the World Cup.
In the history of the World Cup, the Netherlands has reached the final three times, but they have been disappointed to finish second. He lost the 1974 and 1978 finals to West Germany and Argentina respectively, and won the 2010 World Cup final against Spain, losing 1-0 after extra time. In the 2014 World Cup, the Netherlands, led by coach Louis van Gaal, was eliminated from the final after a 0-0 draw with Argentina in the semifinals and a penalty shootout of 2:4. In the third place final, the Netherlands defeated Brazil 3-0 to win the third place. The Netherlands is known as the "uncrowned king" of the World Cup.
In 1988, the Netherlands won the European Championship, and in the 2000 and 2008 European Championships, a number of exciting big win people impressed. In the qualifiers for the 2016 European Championship, the Netherlands was eliminated by finishing fourth in the group, and then the Netherlands rallied to re-enter the 2018 World Cup, experiencing a hard battle in the qualifiers, and finally ranked third in the group only on goal difference. In 2021, the Netherlands won three games in the group stage of the European Cup, but lost to the Czech Republic in the 1/8 final and failed to reach the round of 16.
As of 2017, the Dutch national team has achieved 397 wins, 172 draws and 219 losses in 788 matches, with a total score of 1616-1023 and a net score of 593 goals, ranking among the top in Europe.
In the group stage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, the Netherlands is in a group with Qatar, Senegal and Ecuador. On December 3, the Netherlands beat the United States 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar to qualify for the last eight. On February 10, the Netherlands lost the quarter-finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup 3-4 on penalties after a 2-2 extra-time draw with Argentina.
On July 3, 2024, the Netherlands defeated Romania 3-0 in the quarter-final of the European Championship to qualify for the last eight. It was the first time the Netherlands had won in regular time in the knockout stages of a European Championship since they beat Yugoslavia 6-1 in the quarter-finals of Euro 2000. The Netherlands scored 10 corner goals in the half, second only to Sweden in the European Cup since 1980.
